Hannah Jones who, at aged only 13, decided against a potentially life saving heart transplant. Hannah's Primary Care Trust considered legal action to force Hannah into having the operation, but after intervention from the Child Protection office the Trust backed down.
Now, thanks to an anonymous insurer, Hannah will travel to the United States to visit Disneyland and fulfil her lifetime dream. Image copyright SWNS. I've followed some of this - quite sad that we give more encouragement to kids rights regarding their rights to free birth control etc, but this girl had to go to court to have her medical rights listened to.
I admire her parents for coping with all of this too. Beautiful shot. -- Director of Community Operations deviantART, Inc. --- Always the summers are slipping away. Beautiful image. I hope Hannah will have a long and happy life. I wish some day she will find a good man who will give her one kiss on each and every of this sweet sun-spots in her cute face.
Now to childrens legal rights. I wish children would be listened to more, at the same time as adults, we have the obligation to do what ever we can in our childrens best interest. In her case I can imagine that this could bring her parents, whom I am sure love her, into a heartbreaking dilemma. I just wish that what ever is really the best for Hannah will happen. Meanwhile, I hope she enjoys Disneyland and has a lot of other dreams come true. -- M.psych Christof Lehmann Welcome to my D.A. portfolio: [link] I saw an article on the news about Hannah and I was absolutely appalled that she's had to go through so much, just to be listened to.
Hannah has my full respect for standing up for what she wanted in the face of adults who thought they knew better. Congrats on a beautiful image. -- Prints I saw this in $chix0r's journal before I saw it in my devwatch and went to read about Hannah. It's shocking that she fight so hard just to be allowed to choose her own destiny.

I'm so glad that someone has given her the chance to fulfill a dream - being a child doesn't mean that their dreams shouldn't be taken as seriously. Because if anything, a child's dreams are the purest of them all. Thankyou for sharing this beautiful shot with us. -- #CMJK | *ProjectInspire | ~dAZine | #AussieDeviants | *vexelove | *CSS-Babes | *eCSSited | Portfolio I think that too many people underestimate how much a kid understands. Who understands better than someone who has spent the majority of her life stuck in a depressing, sterile hospital? Having been stuck in one myself for awhile(not as long as Hannah), I cannot blame her. She wants to live now! I heard it said once that "A crowded hour of joy is worth an age without a name"? I hope you rock Disneyland Hannah, and when you do pass, that you have a smile on your face because YOU OWNED IT
